Board elections on Feb 20th resulted in the re-election of Greg Sears, Angela Dougan, Carri Bell, and Mark Freeman; each for 2 years. We think these are great results as they current board is deeply involved in ensuring the success of our transition from a management company to homeowner-only managed HOA.

Planter Preparations
Saturday, May 3rd several homeowners helped clean out most of the plants in/on the ten roadway-islands that go up Voyager. This makes room for new, beautiful and consistent plantings in all islands. Doing the work with homeowner assistance saved the HOA $700+. Previous similar efforts with homeowner support (i.e. Scrub Oak clean-out) continue to benefit your neighborhood...so your support is appreciated.

The strong turnout shows we may have another option with our other needed improvement efforts. Last month the board proposed a special assessment to fund improvements, unfortunately the potential costs resulted in a negative vote. If we can count on homeowner involvement, we can drastically cut costs on any improvement projet. We'll be researching other options and will let you know what we come up with. For those that helped out recently, Thanks for your support.

Lennar Roof Venting Info
Lennar recently started a campaign to correct some attic venting issues. The Board contacted Lennar to clear up the questions. For more info, please check out the Lennar Warranty Info page.

Trash Collection Changes
Following numerous complaints the Board changed our neighborhood waste removal vendor. The letter mailed to all home owners late November 2007 explains the issues, recycling, and when Bestway began their weekly Monday pickups (Dec 31st, 2007).

Traffic Changes
Earlier this year the city installed and activated the traffic lights at the entrance to our community. While this has increased safety at the intersection it's also exacerbated congestion for the traffic trying to turn West onto Northgate. With this many "smart" drivers have decided to use our streets as a huge U-turn area...sometimes it seems like 5-10% of the traffic comes into NGH and makes U-turns on our streets...as far up as Coyote Willow, maybe to avoid guilt.

One of our neighbors already sent the city a letter asking for their intervention. If you too would like to get the city invigorated, please use the letter below (coming soon) as a sample. Thanks for your support.

And if you want to help keep the tractor-trailers from taking the wrong road into NGH, we're also working an effort to put up sign(s) letting them know where they can find I-25 or hiway 83. The letter below (coming soon) can also be used as a sample.
