HOA Meetings & Information

The Northgate Highlands HOA Board meetings occur the first Tuesday of every month unless it's a holiday or rescheduled. Yes, Tuesday is a recent change...Feb 5th due to other scheduling issues. As of Aug 1st, 2008, we've moved our monthly HOA meetings to El Padrino's 13425 Voyager Pkwy, 80921, which is convenient and a good fit in many ways; location, services, space for the meetings, and availability. We hope to see you there.

NGH HOA's Annual Meeting
The HOA held the NGH Annual meeting Feb 19th & 20th, 6:15-8:00pm at The Place, 13990 Gleneagle Dr. Board member elections resulted in the re-election of Greg Sears, Angela Dougan, Carri Bell, and Mark Freeman; each for 2 years. We think these are great results as they current board is deeply involved in ensuring the success of our transition from a management company to homeowner-only managed HOA. Mr Gary Erickson joined us on Feb 19th. He talked about the HOA bills from Wasson Properties and how the funds are being used: landscaping and care of Voyager. He admits the north side of Voyager is a little more ragged...he's working with the city to finalize road development before doing any work here. One of the big items he's working on is the Power's Blvd interconnect/overpass...apparently a tollway developer is fighting to put in a tollway from hiway-83 & Powers to the planned I-25 & Powers connection. Gary is working against the tollway, he believes this should be a free city/state road. Gary is committed to helping Northgate grow in positive directions. One of the other things that he's explained he'll be doing soon is to repair and improve the area around and near our entrance.

Background on Gary Erickson and Wasson Properties...Angela Dougan, of the HOA, spent considerable time tracking down the relationships surrounding Wasson and eventually found Gary Erickson. Kudos are due to Angela--that was NOT easy work. Gary is the Northgate developer that's hired Wasson Properties to oversee the Northgate Residential & Business communities.

NGH HOA's Special Session
The HOA held a Special Session Apr 15th following the same appoach used during the NGH Annual meeting. This special session was required to discuss and seek member approval for a Special Assessment to accomplish several neighborhood improvements. Reference the 2008 Budget letter for additional details.

The presentation and discussion went well, it seemed like most in attendance supported the need to have an assessment, but unfortunately, the motion did not carry in a 58 to 51 vote. 46 of those "no" votes were attributed to a single voter that had collected 45 proxies. While unfortunate in the way things turned out, we believe we were successful in raising awareness and motivating some folks which will be a positive for the long term. This certainly highlights the importance of the proxy; so please pass your proxy onto a neighbor if you can't make a meeting that requires a member vote.
